unfortunately since these engines are "interference", if the timing belt goes it is extremely likely that there is other damage. this can be: piston, con rod, bearing, valve, cam crank.. etc.. so it's really no worth messing with an old engine unless you can have it properly and well checked over. However even with checks if there is a fault in a component and you rebuild with the old parts you could have a catastrophic failure further down the line... and after spending all that money who would want that?what are you looking for? a lot more power than the standard engine or just a standard system (with a few mods). and yes if you opt for high power you will be spending lots of money. best of luck.
